Our advantages

  • Our system can achieve exceptionally high heating and cooling rates thanks to the low-thermal-mass sample holder combined with our innovative thermal cycler. As the sample is directly in contact with the aluminum holder, the heat transfer from the heating element to the sample happens in a very short time (as opposed to conventional instruments where the sample is contained in plastic tubes placed in bulky thermal diffusive blocks). We can perform a 40-cycles amplification program in as little as 10-15 minutes.
  • Thanks to the reduced quantity of reagents, the users can benefit from lower reaction costs. As a result of the smaller size of our reaction chambers, we can successfully perform qPCR with only 1 µL of reaction mix (conventional PCR tubes are usually filled with 10-20 µL of reaction mix). This generates a cost reduction of about 60% for a 96-tests qPCR experiments.
  • The PCR reagents can be preloaded and stored for long periods onto our sample holder by means of a lyophilisation process, therefore eliminating the need for a cold chain. This also drastically reduces the amount of user pipetting steps and therefore increases the reproducibility of the tests.

In addition to qPCR, we have successfully tested our device for isothermal PCR applications (LAMP), which will be implemented in the next version of our device.
